Christmas in February!

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

Now THIS is the most wonderful time of the year! (Although with all the presents we’ll be buying ourselves it does, kinda feel like Christmas).

The swimsuit edition of Sport’s Illustrated is out, and we can’t stop reading it (for the articles of course ;) ) The beautiful Kate Upton is on the cover, but the real treasures are inside. We’ll probably be updating about this for days to come, but for now a few of our favorites!

Amazon Royal Blue by diNeila

Pena by diNeila

diNeila is Brazilian GOLD. We’ve only been carrying the line for two seasons now, but they always blow us away! Made with the utmost attention to detail and unique accents, we’ve found that their suits are as flattering as they are fun!

West by Agua Bendita

And no one’s forgetting about Agua Bendita. The beautiful Chrissy Teigen wears the bright neon West bikini paired with a denim vest. We love this idea, and think it’ll be perfect come summertime (and festival season!)

Cozy Up!

Monday, December 17th, 2012

December always flies by, and this year is no different. Is it 12/17 already?? The days are rainy here in Southern California (and then nights freezing!) so forgive us for dwelling on how to transform our swim wardrobe into winter-appropriate attire. Here are a few we’ve already mentioned to start, but these will work just as well!

1. Two wonderfully cozy, knit coverups by ODABASH– and neutrally toned too! Dress these up, down, during the day, night. The possibilities are endless!

Right: Reyna Coverup, Left: Coleene Knit Coverup

2. Comfy loungewear by FOX. Right: Pride Zip Sweater, Left: Dreamer Pants

Comfortable loungewear — necessary during all seasons. Though we warn you– if you fall asleep in these, it may be difficult to get up and out of them. Ever.

XOXO – Molly

Women’s Swimwear 2011 will be Itsy, Sexy & Bikinilicious!!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

All those at or high on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week will vouch that 2011 summer will be all about bikinis and sexier women’s swimwear! One-pieces and two-piece bikinis will be reigning the sands, waves, the sun and after hours.

Bikinis have ruled ladies’ hearts since the first sexy damsel was spotted in a then-considered-strange but sensational piece of women’s swimwear (read bikini). Well now it’s not only the women who are impressed by its sexiness but men can’t seem to get enough of them too! Summers mean less work and more play. Oh yeah, less of clothing too, especially when you have the sand under your feet and the sky around you at the beach!

Designer bikinis are a perfect wear for all summer and tropical tricks, adventures and all the fun you’ve waited all winters to have.

Women’s Swimwear 2011 – A Sensation called Bikini

There’s just no end to creativity and the ideas that swimwear designers apply to this little piece  of clothing and make it look better and better!!

Beware of Fake Designer Swimwear! Shop Authentic Stuff

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Come summers and the demand for designer swimwear shoots out of the graph and why not when it’s the time to flaunt curves, flip hair, shrug off shoulders and much more! However, before we get all excited about the so-many swimwear bikinis options available and  before our consumerist hearts  flutter out with joy, let’s get to some serious business.

Designer women’s swimwear is first of all ‘designer’ and if it’s being sold in the boot of a car or in a garage sale, you’re sure missing the point! The tag ‘designer’ means that the bikini piece has been made from the finest fabrics and is what can be worn on the beaches in Cannes while a great film fest is underway. No points for guessing then that this sort of high-end swimwear would not be available with an out-house or garage for a designer swimwear store or at the price they offer you.

Also you can’t rely for the the dash or the sexiness on a bikini piece bought among t-shirts and other gear. So, apply your mind and for the best and most fashion-important season of the year, only buy women’s swimwear..designer swimwear either from designer houses or reputed retailers! Just like the one you’re reading this post at!

Designer Swimwear – You can never Fake-it to Make-it!

As in all other areas of life, swimwear fashion isn’t about faking but making it. And to ‘make it’, authentic designer swimwear will be a great help apart from your own stunning summer avatar!

And if you raise your defense by bringing up the sky-high costs then you’re missing the point again.. by far this time! The cost of designer women’s swimwear is definitely high! Higher than what many among us can shell out without breaking the bank but the quality, designs and cuts are just so-deliciously smooth and perfect that one does not mind paying a bit more!

And it’s a treat every woman deserves! Shop ‘authentic’, sensational and gorgeous swimwear from Molly Brown’s Swimwear.

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Mercedes Benz Miami Swim Week 2010 revealed the beachy looks for summer swimwear 2011. No these swimwear pieces won’t be available until next year – to put the anxious souls at rest. The fashion conscious damsels can start planning for next year!

On display were a vast collection of bikinis, monokinis, one-pieces, rompers, harem pants, flowing sun dresses, breezy caftans and cover-ups. The interesting accessories to add lots of oomph factor to the swimwear included elbow-high chunky bangles & gloves, stovepipe hats, tulle skirts and mod shades. The ramp sizzled all the way with such a walk down.

Beachy Stuff – Great work by swimwear designers

Women’s swimwear designers seem to all ready to make 2011 even more exciting than the current 2010 swimwear.  With bikini designs inspired by international culture and spirit, 2011 is going to be out-and-out global!

Designer swimwear label LuliFama also available at Molly Brown’s showcased suits printed with maps of Caribbean. Other designers indulged in global prints such as snake skin, metallic hardware, abstract prints, lots of ruffles and gold studs.

Benny Rosset, designer of Cia Maritima on offer at Molly Brown’s exhibited a swimwear collection inspired by the vibrant markets of Morocco. Exotic huh?

Poko Pano, the designer swimwear brand had something else to show – the skin. Yes, the collection was as skimpy and tiny as you can imagine. With water-melon printed bottoms and green-white stripes bikini tops, tropical banana flower patterns and bikinis with sequined red hearts, the designs appealed and received a huge applaud.

A lot of great stuff is on for summer 2011 by your favorite women’s swimwear designers. All you can do is wait and wait for good. Until then shop for the amazing 2010 swimwear pieces from Molly Brown’s.

Swimwear 2010 Trends – Less or More?

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Swimwear trends for the summer 2010 do not seem to be too modest, shy or about underplaying. 2010 swimwear is not just about bikinis, one pieces, cover ups, dresses, it’s also about sheer swimwear (remember the reveal all or some kind of bikinis), skimpy tankinis and other breathtaking swimsuits and bikinis.

The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week showed that none of the designer swimwear labels are taking the 2010 swimwear season to be only another. The stakes are high and the race to the top is intense! From great color themes to great risque in swimwear designs, women’s swimwear for summer 2010 features a lot of excitement and real revolution.

Let’s take a quick look at what’s less and what is in heaps in 2010 swimwear collection:

  • Color me allDesigner swimwear is definitely not taking chances with going simple. So there’s definitely less of   simple pastels and sandy colors. And the area that women’s swimwear seems most innovative is the color choice. 2010 swimwear is a color riot! Kaleidoscopic, mosaics, dots, and all the colors of summer are splashed on sexy silhouettes making them hotter than ever.
  • Mix n Match – With plain out of the picture, mix ‘n’ match prints – especially graphic prints are ruling the runaways and the beaches. Simple solids are not ‘the’ swimsuits.
  • Canny Cutouts – Unconventional cuts, plunging necklines, asymmetrical cuts and holes in swimwear are more than ever! Adding loads of style and catty appeal, these cuts are just too hot.
  • Neck & Shoulders – As there is more skin, there’s more shoulder and neck. Strapless bandeaus, one shoulder, plunging neck lines are reinforcing the less is more mantra!

There is loads of sexy, gorgeousness, rebel and art in 2010 women’s swimwear collection. Shop for the latest designer swimwear collection at Molly Brown’s swimwear store and be part of the 2010 swimwear revolution!

Women’s Swimwear Dilemma – To Tan or Not to Tan

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Since women’s swimwear first came to the fore along came a plethora of surprises. Women became pleasantly surprised with this new beachwear that liberated them and made beach visits fun and fashionable. And men were elated for reasons we all know and need not list.

Since then and now when women’s swimwear, resort wear and or shape wear (whatever the nouveaux noms) has transformed so much (not only in terms of being bold, daring & full of oomph), there are still certain things that haven’t changed like the dilemma  every woman thinking of buying women’s swimwear faces – the dreaded and sometimes loved tan lines.

Swimwear bikinis and swimsuits with straps, neck and back ties and even halters all get tan lines. Strapless swimwear on the other hand gets you a through tan with no irregular lines or blotches. So we have both the scenarios in front and now the question arises, whether to choose straps and ties swimwear or the strapless one for a regular tan.

Let’s see what are the pros and cons of choosing either kind of women’s swimwear:

  • Going for swimwear bikinis and swimsuits with straps and ties sure means a great variety to choose from and for some the tan lines are pretty sexy too.
  • Swimwear bikinis without straps look sexy but apart from the bandeau and off shoulder styles there are not many too choose from.
  • Tan lines may not be every women’s ‘flaunt it’ and ‘win all’. But there are some who can get away with them looking as sexy as ever. When wearing bikinis with straps tan lines are inevitable and perhaps that’s why all of us accept them as part of our beauty package.
  • A through and through even tan that strapless swimwear provides looks much better than tan lines here and there.

There are tan through swimwear available these days that tan even underneath the skin. This is made possible with lightweight fabrics. The tan through bikini or swimsuit is not necessarily see-through.

Ladies the verdict still lies with you – Will the love for sexy designer swimwear override the love for even tan?  Just make sure that whatever you choose should be in your best interest. When the sun is high, the bikinis and swimwear can’t be down and wrong; women’s designer swimwear means sexy women with or without the tan lines.

Sheer Swimsuits – Add Shock & Sensation to your Bikini Collection

Friday, May 7th, 2010

The latest sizzle on the swimwear market is Sheer Swimwear! And if the obviousness of the name isn’t enough to suggest what they are then read on. Sheer swimsuits are translucent bikinis that are definitely not for the shy or the subtle. These translucent bikinis are for women who want to look their stunning best and don’t mind revealing.

Adventurous women can pick more translucent bikinis and the subtler ones a bit less translucent. Daring, bold and even sexily scandalous, sheer swimwear is somewhere between dare to bare and not quite. Sheer swimwear includes both one pieces and separates, skimpy bikinis, full coverage and less. This sheerer than sheer women’s swimwear is an absolute stunner that will not only make heads turn but make people gawk with shock and gape with admiration!

And if you love being the center of attraction then sheer swimsuits are the thing for you.

Sheer sartorial genius – Sheer Swimwear

Sheer swimsuits are so not your modesty wear, they’re the real tease that leave nothing or very little to imagination. Not totally out and out transparent, sheer bikinis and swimsuits range from completely invisible to just enough coverage. So the choice to go all bare or only somewhere depends on you.

For damsels whose dash lies in being out there, sheer swimsuits in nets and translucent fabrics is a good option. For more prudent yet experimental, there are bikinis which appear regular till the time you are not in the water. When you go in water your swimsuit will become translucent or transparent, depending on the fabric.

Be a show stopper not on the runways but anywhere you go in sheer swimwear. Daring is becoming sexy by the minute. Are you game to keep up?

Molly Brown’s women’s swimwear is offering a lot of temptations, indulge yourself in some sexiness this season!
