Molly Brown’s Swimwear store is also offering Free Ground Shipping on any purchase of $100 or more. The Free Ground Shipping offer has been announced specially for spring break.

Chic swimsuits and one-pieces by the Colombian swimsuit designer, Maaji and high-end swimsuit bikinis by Kirsti Grinna Collection can now be purchased at the leading women’s swimwear and resort beachwear store. Inspired by nature and botanicals the 2010 Maaji swimsuits line available at Molly Brown’s presents floral patterns, unconventional colors and cuts (Brazilian and hipster styles), ruffles and much more. Maaji bikinis can be pre-ordered at Molly Brown’s.

Kirsti Grinna Collection bikinis and swimsuits offering a direct contrast to Maaji, are a stylish melange of luxury, modern, urbane and sophisticated cuts and designs. Kirsti Grinna, daughter of a well known swimwear designer Tara Grinna, debuted with the controversial yet highly successful KGB (Kirsti Grinna Bikinis) label. However, Kirsti Grinna Collection, launched after the KGB and now on offer at Molly Brown’s features less kitsch and more luxe swimsuit designs and cuts.

Donna Allen, owner of the swimwear store, while introducing Maaji and Kirsti Grinna said, “Molly Brown’s is proud to offer swimwear sensations Maaji and Kirsti Grinna. Both the labels define bikini fashion in their own rights. If one carries the all natural, arty and ultra feminine appeal then the other is an edgy, bold and irresistibly luxurious collection. Women will really have a hard time deciding which one to choose!”

Kirsti Grinna swimsuits and bikinis are made in U.S from Italian fabrics. High-end and modern, the highlight of the collection is the use of hardware and lining. Maaji on the other hand is an internationally renowned bikini label with the women’s swimwear being found in countries as far as England, Italy, Aruba, Australia and many more.

“Both Maaji and Kirsti Grinna fit perfectly with Molly Brown’s theme for 2010 swimwear which screams of sexy, unconventional, daring, stunning, unusual and high-end. So if being different is your mantra for the season, then Molly Brown’s has got you covered! Other designers pouring in their best and latest at the store are Luli Fama, L*Space, Despi and many more. Enjoy the sun, beaches, breezes and waves in full-of-summer bikinis from Molly Brown’s!”, concluded Donna

Bikinis from both Maaji and Kirsti Grinna Collection have been featured in the Sports Illustrated magazine. Apart from Maaji and Kirsti Grinna two other new designers have also be added to the inventory at Molly Brown’s – Tori Praver and Zimmermann swimwear.

Free Ground Shipping offer is valid for any purchase of $100 or more. The Maaji swimwear collection can be reached at: http://mollybrownsswimwear.com/cgibin/imageshell/csvread.pl?Type=Swimwear&Designer=Maaji&order_by=ID&order=123

When the World went Witty about Swimsuits

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Swimsuits have always been a fascination among fashion forward people. The only difference however, between good old days and current times is that women’s swimwear was downright modest then and now it has escalated to be sheer avant garde. But, during all this transition, no matter what, people have always been speaking their hearts out which we term as quotations.

Here are some of the most witty and humorous quotes about swimwear that have ever been said and probably even felt by people from all spheres.

Voilà:

  • “They were doing a full back shot of me in a swimsuit and I thought, Oh my God, I have to be so brave. See, every woman hates herself from behind.”, Cindy Crawford
  • “In 8 weeks, 8 pounds could make a big difference in how a swimsuit looks on you.”, Cynthia Sass
  • “You used to put the skirt on as a cover up. Now it’s part of the swimsuit. It’s an updated version”, Heather Hannan
  • “A girl in a bikini is like having a loaded pistol on your coffee table. There’s nothing wrong with them, but it’s hard to stop thinking about it”, Garrison Keillor
  • “Medical statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is interesting but what they conceal is vital”, Anonymous
  • “Women shop for a bikini with more care than they do for a husband. The rules are the same. Look for something you will feel comfortable wearing. Allow for room to grow”, Erma Bombeck.
  • “A bikini is not a bikini unless it can be pulled through a wedding ring”, Louis Reard.

How to Choose Tankinis for Young Girls

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Donning a swimwear piece is no more a matter of simple fashion in current times. Right from the best fit to the best style, everything has to be perfect when it comes to choosing women’s swimwear. Bikinis whether for ladies or young teens has become more than just a gear for fun in the sun! It is about fashion, catty curves and cut throat competition!

So choosing a tankini for your daughter is something you should put more thought into. Believe us, it’s no longer simple as choosing a swimming attire. It implies a lot more than that! Among the most popular beach apparels, tankinis are getting popular among young ladies.

In order to select the perfect beach attire for your girl, you got to consider some pointers before you step onto the shopping bandwagon. Let’s take a peek at some of those parameters which might be of help when you go shopping for your daughter’s beachwear:

  • The best fabrics that you can consider while buying a tankini for your young girl are spandex, nylon, cotton or lycra.
  • Choose from the variety of designs available on the market according to your daughter’s skin tone and torso.
  • When you go out to shop, always consider buying a tankini swimsuit that assures you durability and longevity. Quality is of utmost significance as well. Don’t get deceived by anything that sounds cheap, for it might not be suitable to a young girl’s delicate skin.
  • Tankinis can be worn in three different styles; halter, criss cross and tank styles. Even young girls are very mindful of their beach looks, so suggest her a style that best suits her personality.

So, the next time you go out shopping for your or your daughter’s beach attire, keep these few but important points in mind. Molly Brown’s is your perfect one stop shop for all women’s swimwear needs. If you wish to have some more information regarding designer swimsuits, tankinis, accessories or even cover ups, you may get in touch with us at usorders@mollybrownsswimwear.com

Swimwear mistakes! – 4 Tips to Avoid Swimsuit Disaster!

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Bikinis, swimsuits and other swimwear can be hard to get right. We all make mistakes, but when it comes to buying swimwear such as bikinis, the mistakes could be more than embarrassing! Here is our guide to some of the most common mistakes a girl can make in the swimwear world, and how to avoid them!

  1. Support – Make sure that any bikini or swimsuit supports your bust sufficiently, particularly if you have a bigger bust size. Many skimpy bikinis just don’t cut it, so try looking for something with thicker straps and adjustability.
  2. Shiny Swim Suits – Shiny fabric works great for thinner girls, but can seemingly add weight to average or larger sized women. Matt colors or designs are a much better choice to keep you looking slimmer!
  3. Color – Buying colors that don’t flatter you is a big no-no, as we each have a natural skin tone that (apart from the lucky ones who can get away with anything!) means we need to find the colors that complement your skin tone. This takes a little time, but you should know which colors you feel most comfortable in and what gets you the most attention from experience, so stick to the colors you know work with your tone!
  4. Proportion – When trying to choose a bikini, understand the effect of certain cuts on your body. The cut of the swimwear is vital to accentuate your best attributes. High cut bikini bottoms can elongate your legs, perfect if you are a little shorter than average, and darker colors give the impression of a slimmer figure.

Swimwear mistakes can be easily avoided if you take note of the above factors.  Next time you go shopping, make sure that the swimsuit splurge transforms you into desirable diva instead of beachwear disaster.

Stay up to date with the latest in swimwear fashion with Molly Brown’s!

Perfectly fitting swimwear bikinis or swimsuits can make us rejoice and help us sail through swimwear season with an effortless elan. Swimwear designers churn their creative motors day in and day out to come up with sexier than imagination styles and beachwear creations to meet the wardrobe demands of fashion fanatics.

Swimwear Fashion Facts – Fascinating, to say the least!

  • When bikini was first introduced in 1946, it was described as a “two-piece bathing suit that reveals everything about a girl except her mother’s maiden name”. Now the statement is quite bold if the bikinis then weren’t. Nevertheless, in the later decades the designs became astonishingly daring to reveal much more than that.
  • Men’s swimwear in the mid 1940s closely resembled women’s bikinis and swimsuit designs, with tight abdomens and narrow hips. Now this is even more interesting than the first one!
  • Animal prints were first introduced in the 1950s with a tag line, ‘If you can’t drive a Jaguar, wear one.” Wonder what the floral prints were tagged with?
  • Luscious and silken Italian fabrics have redefined designer swimsuits and bikinis in their own special way. However, in the 1950s it was the Spandex fabrics that revolutionized the swimwear industry. Vogue described it as ‘Second Skin’.
  • The introduction of ‘Sports Illustrated ‘Swimsuit Edition’ in 1964 skyrocketed the importance of swimwear apparels in both men’s and women’s fashion.
  • The ‘bi’ in bikini has nothing to do with the the two-piece design of the swimsuit. However, a three-piece ‘trikini’ did make an appearance in 1968 but soon faded out.
