After ten years spent in graphics, Delfina Marsaglia decided to create a little collection of swimsuits.
It was a spring day when Gloria Baume, the editor of Vogue America, at that time on vacation in Rome, bought one of Delfina's styles, fell in love with it and left a message on her phone box.
Immediately the first collection was sold at Bergdorf and Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barney's, Platinum triad among US department stores. Very quickly the company grew, always keeping at the same time a very craftmade and exclusive imprint. Step by step Delfina enlarged her distribution besides Europe and the US, also to Japan, Australia and Emirates. Delfina's styles, strongly loved by international press, were photographed many times in magazines such as Vogue USA, Elle, Marie Claire, GQ, Glamour... Recently she got two covers on the prestigious Swimwear Edition of Sports Illustrated.
The collection, initially consisting of only swimsuits, has today been enriched with tunics, sargons, pants and every kind of accessories.
Great care is given to the choice of fabrics and to the quality of embroideries, often made in South Italy by the last generation still taught on the art of hand-embroidering. Nowadays Delfina, helped by her son Ludovico, takes care of her line and also draws and produces the swimwear line for Calypso St. Barth.
