To the whole world, just like every year, this year too Mercedes Benz Fashion Week presented its feisty universe of fashion. It was a picture that swimwear lovers gaped at and fashion fanatics closely watched to find faults where perhaps none existed. The fashion shows were executed beautifully and didn’t flinch at showing off either swag or sophistication.
If bold cut out swimwear and color-blocked bikinis ruled one platform, the other showed eclectic and bohemian designs are still a hot favorite of many designers. The great thing about this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was that the swim dresses and cover ups also got their own share of the neon lights. There were sheer wraps, silky gowns and outfits that can leave even the cheekiest and the sexiest bikinis and one piece swimwear pieces a little green with envy.
We also saw it and watched it and cheered as you may have when a L Space, Indah or Caffe piece came on to the stage. And yes there were more of our favorites there too – such as Luli Fama, Maaji, Minimale Animale and Nanette Lepore and a few others. All showcasing their 2015 swimwear creations and were they hot or what!
The reigning trend this year at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and the one showcased for the 2015 Spring season is “Bare Much”! Yes, no girl-next-door-fashion or excess coverage but a pure disregard for the been there and done that. The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is a thriving example of the designers’ progressive imagination and our fashion-bent minds as it never ceases to bring something new to the world of swimwear and we never cease to have enough of it!
This year the designers added sparkle where it was missing, such as sporty swimwear. Remember the rise of the Rashguard last year. This year you can expect even more funked up rashguard and sporty swimwear that can double up as your chosen style statement at an after-party. Surfer girls – it’s time to look sexier than ever!
So get ready for higher cuts and wider bikini lines, color splashed designs (not just color blocks but use of other psychedelic tones as well), pure catwalk fashion on the beach, unconventional bikini cuts and a hint of luxury on all garments.
